03/06/2013 EURELECTRIC has elected Dr Johannes Teyssen, CEO of E.ON SE, as the association's President for the next two years. The appointment was approved at a meeting of EURELECTRIC's Board of Directors on 2 June, one day ahead of the association's Annual Conference, which this year takes place in Bologna. Mr Teyssen had already been EURELECTRIC Vice President for the past 3 years.

The Board also appointed two Vice Presidents: António Luís Guerra Nunes Mexia, CEO of utility EDP, and Henri Proglio, Chairman and CEO of utility EDF.

In addition, the Board approved a third three-year mandate for current EURELECTRIC Secretary General Hans ten Berge.

All decisions take place with immediate effect.

The new presidential team will come together for the first time to hold a joint press conference in Bologna today. The conference will also be an opportunity for outgoing EURELECTRIC President Fulvio Conti, CEO of Enel, to reflect on his two-year term in office.

Dr Johannes Teyssen is CEO of E.ON and Chairman of the Board of Management since May 2010. He previously held several executive positions in PreussenElektra AG, HASTRA AG and AVACON AG. He joined E.ON Energie in 2001 as a member of the Board of Management and was Chairman of the Board of Management from 2003 to 2007. He became Member of the Board of Management of E.ON AG (now E.ON SE) in 2004 and Vice Chairman of the Board of Management in 2008.

António Luís Guerra Nunes Mexia was appointed as CEO of EDP - Energias de Portugal in 2006. Previous positions include Executive Chairman of Galp Energia and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrogal, Gás de Portugal, Transgás and Transgás-Atlântico (2001-2004). In 2004, he was appointed Minister of Public Works, Transport and Communication for Portugal's 16th Constitutional Government. He also served as Chairman of the Portuguese Energy Association (APE) from 1999 to 2002, Vice-Chairman of the Portuguese Industrial Association (AIP) and Chairman of the General Supervisory Board of Ambelis. He was also a government representative to the EU working group for trans-European network development.

Henri Proglio is Chairman and CEO of EDF since 25 November 2009. Before becoming CEO of EDF, he was Chairman of the Management Board of Veolia Environnement, then Chairman and CEO from 2003 to November 2009. Within the EDF group, he is Chairman of the Board of Directors of EDF Energy Holdings. He is a director of EDF Énergies Nouvelles, South Stream Transport BV, South Stream Transport AG, EDF International (SAS) and Edison. He is also Chairman of the board of Edison, of the EDF Foundation and the Electra association. In addition, he is director of CNP Assurances, Dassault Aviation, Fomento di Contrucciones y Contratas, Natixis.

Hans ten Berge holds a degree in Chemistry from the Rijksuniversiteit in Utrecht and also graduated from the University of Delft in business administration. Following posts in a number of international companies, including Exxon Chemie and Kemira Agro, he joined ENECO Energie in November 1998 as Managing Director of Energiehandelsbedrijf, subsequently serving as a member of the Board of Management from November 1999 until January 2006. He served for several years as Chairman of the EURELECTRIC Markets Committee, before taking on the full-time post of Secretary-General in 2007.
